It's that time of year. Even with the best of intentions sometimes we may just have a little too much pudding or an extra glass of something that tips you over from feeling fine to a bit foul.
Here are some excellent recipes using essential oils that will help to pop a spring back in your step.
In a tablespoon of carrier oil add 2 drops of lemongrass essential oil, 2 drops of fennel essential oil and 2 drops of roman chamomile. Combine and rub onto your stomach, chest and neck. This combination of oils contact anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and calming properties.
If you are feeling nauseous, add one drop of any of the following oils to the palm of your hand and inhale deeply. You can use peppermint, lavender or ginger oil.
In a bowl of water (around 250ml) combine 7 drops of lavender and 5 drops of eucalyptus. With a washcloth, apply the mixture to your neck, temples and head. Be mindful to avoid the eye area and keep away from broken skin.
In a 10ml roller bottle, add 8 drops of peppermint oil and two drops of lemon, top with FCO and apply to your temples and the back of your neck.
Make up a compress and apply when resting. Take a cold, wet cloth (store one in a zip lock back in the fridge) and add a drop of Frankincense, a drop of peppermint, a drop of basil and a drop of lavender. Place over your forehead, the temple area of back of the neck and leave for around 15 minutes or until the compress is no longer cool. Reapply as required.
Drink plenty of water!
