Nourishment From The Inside Out...

Essential Oils Collective Kate Dixon Doterra

The real power of doTERRA essential oils is found in their versatility which all links back to the incredible way doTERRA source the raw ingredients, you can read more about that here. For example, Frankincense provides exceptional support when it comes to soothing and grounding frazzled emotions but it is also a TOTAL powerhouse when it comes to caring for your skin. Similarly, lemon is great for mental focus and clarity but can also clean your home sparkling clean without a bottle of bleach in sight.

Anyhoo, at global convention this year doTERRA released three new essential oils - Yarrow|Pom, Pink Pepper and Turmeric - that I have introduced into my daily health routine. Every night, I make up a veggie capsule that contains one drop each of Frankincense, Yarrow|Pom, Pink Pepper, Turmeric and I add a little bit of local raw honey. Then down the hatch.

Yarrow|Pom - a proprietary blend of Yarrow essential oil and cold-pressed Pomegranate seed oil designed to be your go-to for a true inside-out approach to aging, vitality, overall wellness, and, quite frankly, how to get that glow. With main chemical components punicic acid, antioxidants, β-caryophyllene, and chamazulene (this gives it the mighty blue hue) this blend is RICH in omega 5 and has a higher antioxidant capacity of vitamin C and E.

Pink Pepper - the main constitutes of pink pepper are Limonene, α-Phellandrene, Myrcene. Worth doing some independent research on these three constitutes but this essential oil supports total physical body rejuvenation.

Turmeric - super dooper antioxidant properties! The essential oil is totally different to the dried form of turmeric in that it is primarily made up of tumerones whereas the dried and fresh from are primarily made up of water, proteins, carbs, fats, minerals, fibre and a small amount of curcuminoids and tumerones. Important to note that you do not need to consume the essential oil with a fat source for absorption, like you do with the dried form. The really special thing about using turmeric essential oil is that it turbo charges your body’s ability to absorb curcuminoids which are found in Lifelong Vitality and the dried form or turmeric.

Frankincense - The KING of all essential oils and my absolute favourite. Renowned as one of the most prized and precious essential oils, Frankincense has extraordinary benefits. In addition to its notoriety in the New Testament, the Babylonians and Assyrians would burn Frankincense in religious ceremonies and the ancient Egyptians used Frankincense resin for everything from perfume to salves for soothing skin. This centuries-old knowledge contributes to the modern uses of Frankincense today. Its soothing and beautifying properties are used to revitalise the appearance of the skin and help reduce the appearance of imperfections when applied topically. When inhaled or diffused, Frankincense promotes feelings of peace, relaxation, satisfaction, and overall spiritual and emotional wellness.

Ingestion of essential oils is a hotly debated topic and for every article you find that say DO, you will find two more that say DON’T. As with everything, do your own research and understand that their are two schools of thought when it comes to aromatherapy training - the British method, which does not advocate internal use and the French method, which does. Empower yourself with information and make a decision that works for you. I’ve done a lot of research on the constitutes of these oils and the various of methods of application. If you are interested in learning more I highly recommend starting with ‘The healing intelligence of essential oils’ by Dr Kurt Schnaubelt PHD.
